DESCRIPTION:Celebration of the Constitution Dinner will be held at the Atlanta Airport Marriott \nThe SAR Color guard has been asked to present colors for the evening banquet and to retire colors.  We will need two color bearers for the US and GA flags. \nSomeone will also need to fill in for the State Commander as he will be at another event.  The person carrying the US colors can be the commander if they chose to do so. \nIf you are available please contact Georgia Society SAR Commander Collins.

John Andrew Chapter NSDAR will have a DOWNTOWN BELL RINGING on Tuesday the 17th in Watkinsville\, GA \nThe SAR might be willing to fire a musket salute at exactly 4 p.m. \nI am working at our exact location but   would love to have a “Town Crier” start a short program at 3:45 reminding attendees as to what was going on in the minutes leading up to the 4 p.m. signing.  We will have DAR and JAC on site as well\, but I thought that the SAR could really make this event shine. \n

DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED due to weather related issues in the area.\nThe Henry Laurens Chapter (Aiken) South Carolina Society and the Colonel William Few Chapter (Augusta) Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution \nCordially invite you to attend the \n244th Anniversary Commemoration of the First Siege of Augusta \nSaturday\, 1:00 PM\, September 28\, 2024 \nSalvation Army Kroc Center Auditorium\, 1833 Broad Street\, Augusta\, Georgia \nSchedule of Events: \n\n9:30 AM – 12:00 PM. We will host a combined meeting of the Georgia and South Carolina C.A.R. in the Kroc Center Auditorium.\n12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. The local SAR chapters with assistance from the Augusta Chapter\, NSDAR\, will host a luncheon consisting of BBQ sandwiches\, potato salad\, and tea provided by Larry Sconyers BBQ in the Kroc Center Lunchroom. There will also be dessert. You must sign up for the luncheon in advance and the cost is $16.00 per person.\n1:00 PM – 1:45 PM. We will conduct the commemoration ceremony in the comfortable 300-seat Kroc Center Auditorium. The ceremony will consist of bringing greetings\, a battle seminar by Historian Steven Rauch and wreath presentations.\nFollowing the indoor ceremony\, we will go out to the battlefield behind the Kroc Center to watch a mock battle reenactment demonstration to be conducted by our militia and artillery sections firing black powder muskets and six black powder cannons.\n\n  \nSAR\, DAR\, C.A.R. and other patriotic and lineage societies and chapters are invited to participate in a formal wreath laying ceremony as part of the program.
