DESCRIPTION:Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution\, Brier Creek Chapter\, Wiregrass Chapter\, Mill Creek Chapter invite you to attend the \n245th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF BRIER CREEK \nSaturday\, March 2\, 2024\, at 11:00 a.m. \nBrier Creek Battlefield and Memorial Site\nSet GPS to Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area then down Brannen’s Bridge Road for ½ mile \nScreven County\, Georgia \nSAR\, DAR\, C.A.R.\, other patriotic and Lineage societies\, chapters\, and the general public are invited to the 245th Anniversary of the Battle of Brier Creek. Continental\, militia\, or period attire is encouraged.\nTo participate in the Wreath Presentation\, please complete and return the registration form no later than Wednesday\, February 16\, 2024\, to assure listing in the Ceremony Program. \nWreath Registration: \nName of Wreath Presenter \, Organization’ Office or Title of Presenter’ Email address\, Phone\nWill also Participate in the Color Guard Musket Firing \nPlease complete and mail by Wednesday\, February 16\, 2024\, to assure listing in the Ceremony Program. \nMail to: Jane Durden\, PO Box 478\, Swainsboro\, GA 30401-0478 or Email: hsdurden@bellsouth.net \nDirections:  \nBEST DIRECTIONS: GPS-Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area From Augusta\, go abt. ½ mile past Tuckahoe & turn left at sign. From Statesboro\, Sylvania and Newington\, you will see the BIG SIGN on the right about 100 yards before you get to Tuckahoe.\n FROM STATESBORO: Take U.S. HWY 301 North to Sylvania where GA HWY 21 crosses. From this point\, drive north on U.S. HWY 301 for 5.0 miles and turn right on GA HWY 24 East. Drive 5.1 miles to Brannans Bridge Road (white building on left) and turn Left. Drive 4.7 miles to Brannans Bridge and across bridge\, 100 yards to GATE on right. There will be a sign at the GATE that says Ceremony.\n FROM DOWNTOWN SYLVANIA: From the downtown circle\, take East Ogeechee Street/Brannans Bridge Road and drive 5.9 miles to the stop sign. Continue driving straight for another 4.7 miles to Brannans Bridge and across bridge\,100 yards to BIG SIGN on right.\n FROM NEWINGTON: Take GA HWY 24 West until you get to the Brannans Bridge Road (white building on the right\, approximately 17 miles) and then turn right. Drive for 4.7 miles to Brannans Bridge and across bridge\, 100 yards to BIG SIGN on right.\n FROM AUGUSTA: Drive to Waynesboro on U.S. HWY 25 South. Continue through Waynesboro and turn left onto GA HWY 24 East. Continue on HWY 24 until you reach U.S. HWY 301. Turn\nright (South) for less than a mile and then turn left onto GA HWY 24 East. Drive 5.1 miles to Brannans Bridge Road (white building on left) and turn Left.
