DESCRIPTION:The National Color Guard staff cordially invites you to honor our patriot commander and join us at Mt Vernon for the annual George Washington Tomb Vigil on \nSaturday\, 14 September 2024. \nAs in the past several years the signup sheet is being handled online.  Please use the following link: \nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F094CAAA92DABFD0-50246546-mount \nWe have again been given permission to bring our weapons\, under the following stipulations: \n1)    National Society SAR Commanders may wear their swords\, all blunted edged and only removed from their sheaths when marching the guard. \n2)    No other knives will be allowed. \n3)    Muskets may be carried by the guard as they march and stand guard at the tomb. \n4)    No powder\, ball or bayonets are to be brought onto the property. \n5)    There will be a safety check performed in the parking lot before any guardsmen can move any further on the property. \n6)    All muskets must always be in the control of guardsmen and all additional national weapons safety rules are to be followed. \nMore information is in the Related Links section on the SignUp Genius link above.

DESCRIPTION:The 244th Anniversary of The Gathering at Sycamore Shoals\n\n\n\nThe Gathering at Sycamore Shoals 2024 event details are out!\nThis year’s event will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday\, September 14\, 2024 at the Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton\, Tennessee. This event is a National Color Guard event. \nDavid Carr is managing wreath registration. If you plan to present a wreath at The Gathering\, please email David with the details or any questions. \nGuest Speaker\nMichael Hardy\, who is a North Carolina author and historian\, as well as a member of the Wautauga Chapter\, TNSSAR\, will be speaking at The Gathering. Mr. Hardy has written more than two dozen history books\, including A History Lover’s Guide to North Carolina and Lee’s Body Guards.
