DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED\n\nBattle of King’s Mountain\n\nOctober 7\, 2024 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\n\n\n\nBattle of King’s Mountain – 244th Anniversary \nDATE/TIME: October 07\, 2024 / MONDAY – 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nLOCATION: Kings Mountain National Battlefield Park\, 2625 Park Road\, Blacksburg\, SC \nCOLOR GUARD ASSEMBLE AT THE MONUMENT BY 10:00 AM \n\n\nKeynote Speaker: Randall Jones\, Historian and Author \nSAR\, DAR\, C.A.R. and other patriotic and lineage societies & chapters are invited to participate in a formal wreath laying ceremony at the United States’ Monument.  Participants presenting a wreath must deliver it to the park’s Visitor Center no later than 9:45 am on October 7th for labeling and transportation to the monument.  Transportation will be provided for those needing assistance to the monument – Please note that parking is at the Kings Mountain State Park with shuttles transporting to the National Park.  You will need to plan PLENTY of time to arrive. \nHosted by the Mecklenburg Chapter of the North Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution. \nWREATH REGRISTRATION: Please send wreath registration information to: \nyankeedoodlesteve@gmail.com \nYou name will be placed on a PowerPoint that will be viewable at the Visitor’s Center.  Wreaths will be positioned at the monument but only a select few will be presented during the rendering honors portion of the program. \n************** \nThe South Atlantic District meeting will be held in Gaffney\, SC at 2:00 PM.  Please see next event on this calendar.
