The Brier Creek Chapter serves Screven County and surrounding counties. Our members, both dual and primary, reside in a fairly wide geographical area. Our main focus is upon Screven County which is the location of the Battle of Brier Creek.
Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month in Sylvania at the American Legion Post 116 (located at 215 Industrial Road, Sylvania, GA, 30647) at 7:00pm. Prior to the meeting, we eat supper at Pop’s Kitchen Restaurant (located at 109 Mims Road, Sylvania, GA, 30647) at 6:00pm. Our chapter’s primary current focus is trying to save and protect the site of the Battle of Brier Creek, located in Screven County. It is in danger of loss due to the lack of protection. We strive to honor and protect the site of the final resting place of close to 200 of our Nation’s first Patriots.
