Battle of Vann’s Creek Ceremony February, 21, 2026
The Samuel Elbert Chapter GASSAR invites the GASSAR, NSDAR, CAR and general public to attend a Revolutionary Ceremony in honor the Battle of Vann’s Creek on Saturday February 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Danny Guthrie Pavilion, The address Bobby Brown Park, 2509 Bobby Brown State Park Rd. Elberton, Ga 30635.
This will be the 15 th Annual Ceremony.
Our speaker will be Eden Pethel, President, Elisha Winn Society, Children of the American Revolution. She will be doing her prestation on Georgia’s 2026 tag that she designed. Our Liberty Tree and Bench will be ½ miles from the pavilion. Plans are to have it completed before the ceremony. We will have a small part of the ceremony dedicated to this and get pictures next to our bench and tree. An article will be in the Graniteer Magazine along with a photo. Our bench is donated by Micheal Baston, Baston Granite, Elberton, Georgia.
Directions from Elberton at GA Hwy 17/GA Hwy 72 and Oliver Street Go South on Hwy 17/72 2.0 miles, turn left on GA-72 East, Go 12.2 miles then turn Right on Bobby Brown State Park Road go 7.1 miles to
the Bobby Brown Park entrance.
Tell the attendant you are with our ceremony. The address is for the entrance. We will have SAR signs at
the entrance and each turn.
