Commemoration of the First Siege of Augusta

242nd Anniversary Commemoration of the
First Siege of Augusta, September 14-18, 1780

on

Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:30 PM
Salvation Army Kroc Center Auditorium
1833 Broad Street, Augusta, Georgia

SAR, DAR, C.A.R. and other patriotic and lineage societies and chapters are invited to
participate in a formal wreath laying ceremony as part of the program. Participants presenting a
wreath need to check in at the registration table by 1:00 PM. Continental, Militia or period
attire is encouraged.

The first part of the ceremony to be held in the auditorium, will include Greetings, a Battle
Seminar, conducted by Military Historian Steven J. Rauch, and Wreath Presentations. Then we
will go out to battlefield behind the center for the second part where we will Render Honors
and conduct a Reenactment Demonstration with muskets and six cannons firing black powder.
