Battle of King’s Mountain – 243th Anniversary
DATE/TIME: October 07, 2023 / SATURDAY – 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
LOCATION: Kings Mountain National Battlefield Park, 2625 Park Road, Blacksburg, SC
THE NATIONAL SOCIETY SAR, THE DANIEL MORGAN CHAPTER, SOUTH CAROLINA SAR, AND THE BATTLE OF KINGS MOUNTAIN CHAPTER, NORTH CAROLINA SAR INVITES EVERYONE TO ATTEND
SAR, DAR, C.A.R. and other patriotic and lineage societies & chapters are invited to participate in a formal wreath laying ceremony at the United States’ Monument. Participants presenting a wreath must deliver it to the park’s Visitor Center no later than 9:45 am on October 7th for labeling and transportation to the monument. Transportation will be provided for those needing assistance to the monument – Please note that parking is at the Kings Mountain State Park with shuttles transporting to the National Park. You will need to plan PLENTY of time to arrive.

Please provide: Presenter Name, Title, Organization Represented. No later than Saturday, September 30th for the registration to be included in the Scroll of Honor which will be presented on-screen at the Kings Mountain Visitor’s Center during the day. During the ceremony only one wreath will be brought forward and presented.
The South Atlantic District meeting is being planned to be held in Gaffney, SC on Friday. October 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Gaffney Visitors Center, Rev War Exhibition Hall, 210 W. Frederick Street – PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE AND LOCATION CHANGE.
The Sleep Inn at 834 Windslow Ave, Gaffney, SC 29341 is the official hotel for the Kings Mountain anniversary. Reservations can be made directly by calling the hotel at 864-487-5337. Additional hotels are available in Gaffney, SC, Gastonia, NC or Kings Mountain, NC.
