- A native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, he moved to South Carolina and served as a Lieuntenant in the South Carolina Militia. He came to Georgia toward the close of the war and was a soldier under Colonel Elijah Clarke. He received bounty land for his services and was elected to the offices of Surveyor and Clerk of Court. He served 4 times as a Presidential Elector and was a Mason and a member of the Baptist Church for 15 years. He died of Palsy.
