      • From the History of Stephens County, GA, "1715-1972 Moses Ayers first settled in Virginia where he fought in the Frence and Indian War under Gen. George Washington. After service he removed to North Carolina and then to Reed Creek District of Franklin County, Ga (now Hart County)."
      • From the History of Stephens County, GA, "He was married three times-his last wife being Abigail Payne and raised a large family."
      • Moses has been accepted as a soldier-patriot in the Revolution by the Daughters of the American Revolution and his grave was marked with an historical marker in June of 1976. He took an Oath of Allegiance in Pittsylvania County in 1777, he was on the list of Charles Kennon's Militia Company in 1778, and he submitted a claim for reimbursement for supplies and services provided to the militia.
