- Married Lucretia Womack in NC. After their marriage they moved to Georgia where his brother had settled in a section of Georgia east of Athens Georgia as the Cloud's Creek. He amassed a large amount of land and became a very successful farmer. He and Lucretia had four daughters. The family continued their patriotic attitude which continued through his grandchildren.

- Elijah Clarke Chapter NSDAR marked grave with a government issue headstone with name and war fought in. The grave had been identified with stone slab-covered raised grave on side of Suddeith Street, Winterville Georgia.
Athens Chapter GA SAR marked the grave with a SAR marker April 15, 2017.
