      • Compatriot Dukes was a founding member of the Altamaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution when it was chartered in 1992. He served many terms as President of the Altamaha Chapter and also served the chapter as registrar and genealogist. He was a past Regional Vice President of the Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution.
      • Married to Velma W. Dukes for 60 years.
      • He was a member of Jesup First Baptist Church having joined the church in 1943. He was the youngest man ever ordained as a deacon at the church and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
