Notes |
- Robert was born in Ireland. The earliest land records found show him living in Old Ninety Six District in S.C. in 1784. While living in South Carolina he served in the militia and in the Continental Line during the Revolutionary War. He also provided supplies to the Revolutionary forces, furnishing bacon and horses. He and family moved to Georgia sometime in 1788 and were granted land in Wilkes Co. By 1807 they had divested themselves of their land there and began their migration through Morgan and Jasper Counties to Henry Co. arriving soon after the county was opened to white settlers in 1821.
