- Harry Paul Wren joined the Atlanta Chapter, Georgia Society, SAR by right of descent from Patriot Robert Patterson who served in the Burke Couny, Georgia Milita. Compatriot Wren later became a charter member of the William Few Chapter, SAR when it was chartered in Augusta, Georgia.
Compatriot Harry Paul Wren died Thursday. Feb. 18, 1999, at his residence in Wrens, Georgia. Compatriot Wren was a native of Jefferson County, had retired as chief personnel manager from Atlanta Army Depot. Forest Park. He was awarded the Department of the Army's Decoration for Meritorious Service. He was a teacher and coach at Louisville Academy. He was a 1934
graduate of Oglethorpe University, where he played football and was student body president. He was a member of Atlanta Personnel Club, Lions Club, Friends of McCollum Library, Jefferson County Historical Society. Kiwanis Club, and the William Few Chapter, Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution. He was named Jefferson County Distinguished Alumnus in 1986. He was a member of Ways Baptist Church.
