      • James Wilkinswon Moore was born in Milledgeville the son of the late Joseph Alfred Moore and Annie Elizabeth Darden. He was preceded in death by his five siblings: Joseph Alfred Moore Jr., Annie Moore Brannen, Katherine (Kizzy) Moore, Frank Darden Moore, and John Thompson Moore.

        He graduated from Georgia Military College in Milledgeville where he served as Cadet Regimental Commander. He was commissioned in the US Army and served as Training / Staff Officer with the final rank of Captain in the A-PTO during WW II.

        He returned to the USA and married Sarolyn Hooten Pennington Moore in 1946. They had two children: a son, James Pennington Moore and wife Lydia Lynn Ellis; their daughter Sally Pennington Moore and husband Michael Kerry Brown.

        He attended and graduated from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree. He worked in the United States and Africa as a mechanical and industrial engineer.

        He is also survived by three grandsons Joseph Pennington Moore, Graham Ellis Moore, wife Bobbie Sunshine Vang, and Patrick Kerry Brown; one great grandson Izik Ellis Moore.
