- Maj. Baugh was a native and resident of Baldwin County. He graduated from Georgia Military College High School, and the University of Georgia. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He served in the 9th Armoured Division in the ETO, the 77th Special Forces Airborne Unit at Ft. Bragg, NC and was an ROTC instructor at Lanier High School now Central High School until his retirement in 1963. Upon returning to Milledgeville he taught for 17 years in the public school and at Gordon-Ivey. He was the son of the late Wyatt Eugene and Lilliam Womble Baugh. His hobbies included gardening and painting early life pictures of his childhood. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Morris-Little Post American Legion, and the John Milledge Chapter - Sons of the American Revolution.
- Survivors also include his daughter Mary Francis Stewart (Jeff) of Gray,GA, two brothers; Dr. James Baugh (Beegee) and Dr. Wilbur Baugh both of Milledgeville, three grandchildren; Whitney, Ryan and Macy of Gray GA.
