    • Notes
      • Bob Buck served the Piedmont Chapter for six years as Chaplain and Chairman of the Schools Committee. His duties as such produced the most thoughtful invocations and benedictions at each chapter meeting and at other special occasions, including the Chaplains column in the chapter newsletter, The Piedmont Piper. His wit and insight in this area was remarkable. In addition, he was a strong advocate for our educational programs, providing numerous winners for the annual Knight Essay contest for High School students and the poster contest for Elementary Schools. He had a remarkable interest in his winners, maintaining communications with each winner after they went off to college.

Bob moved to Marietta, GA in 1975. He graduated form Garden City High School and Williams College in Williamstown, MA. He worked as a Vice-President for the advertising agency formarly known as Dancer-Fitzgerald & Sample. He worked many marketing positions until retiring from Coca-Cola as a Director of Marketing. He recruited his high school classmate, Harold McPheeters for membership in the Piedmont Chapter SAR. Both went off to college, Bob to Williams and Harold to Lafayette. But WW II soon diverted their plans - Bob to the Navy and Harold to the Army.

Bob joined the SAR on July 26, 1993. Ancestor - Jonathan Buck, Sr. for whom Bucksport, Maine is named.
