      • Many friends will remember John for his dedication in his work with the church and various civic organizations. John was an active member of South Cherokee Baptist church. He volunteered and sang weekly with church members at the Woodstock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. John Jones served as a member and the Chaplain of North Cobb County Civitan Club. He was a member of Civitan for over 60 years. John also was a member and Chaplain of AARP Woodstock chapter #5173. Additionally, John served as Chaplain for the Sons of the American Revolution, Captain John Collins chapter. Furthermore, he was a beloved "Hodar", a husband of a Daughter of the American Revolution member.

        John was born in Our Town, Alabama, near Alexander City, Alabama. He attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now known as Auburn University). John served in World War II, 1943 ? 1945, as Corporal in the U.S. Army, in the Asiatic theater with the 88th Chemical Battalion, Company B. John lived a full and happy life with many family members and friends. His dedication and work with his church and organizations will long be remembered.
