- Patriot Robert Flournoy, a native of Virginia, served as a private and later a Captain in the Virginia Troops. In 1783, he moved to Georgia where he served in the Georgia Militia. He lived many years in Savannah, GA and died of an "appoplectick fit" at Lexington, Georgia. Revolutionary Soldiers & Sailors, Patriots & Pioneers, vol.1, Ross Arnold and Hank Burnham, 2001, p.356
