Signers Monument, Augusta, Richmond, Georgia, USA

    Tree:

    Notes:
The intent was to relocate the remains of all three of Georgia’s Declaration of Independence signers to the Signer’s Monument in Augusta, GA, in 1848. However, Gwinnett’s remains could not be located in Savannah’s Colonial Park Cemetery where he was buried. Nevertheless, the Signer’s Monument was dedicated in part to the memory of Gwinnett as one of Georgia’s three signers.
The Signer’s Monument is located at the intersection of Monument and Greene Streets in Augusta, GA. Use the address 530 Greene Street, Augusta, GA, 30901, to locate the monument with driving directions in a GPS program.
