    Biography Robert Colquitt

Robert Colquitt served as a mere lad with his father in the Virginia Troops and drew land lots in 1804 and 1832 for his service. Robert was a man of much wealth, culture and practical standing. He was active in religion and social circles, and at all times “a true friend to his church and to his fellow man.” A long line of useful and influential men and women are descended from him, among who are four ex-Governors, including L. G. Hardman of Georgia. He died in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
