    Biography Nathan Spence, Sr.



    Nathan Spence was born 20 March 1743 in Talbot County, Maryland. He married Elizabeth Quindley of Maryland. Nathan served in the American Revolution as a Private, a Minute Man, and a spy. He served from a few weeks after Philadelphia was taken by the British until peace was made with England. After the war, the family went to Kent County, Delaware, then to Jasper County, Georgia, around 1809. About 1817, the family moved to Gwinnett County, Georgia. Nathan died in Walker County in 1833 and was buried in the Old Lawrenceville Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
