George Foster was born in Virginia and served in the Prince Edward county militia, Captain John Morton’s Company. After the Revolution he joined Virginians who migrated to the choice lands in Georgia and settled in Greene County where he made a name for himself as a landowner and lawyer. After removing to Muscogee County to be near his family, he continued a legal practice and died in 1847. A large funeral attended his passing. Living descendants reside in Columbus and vicinity.
