Notes: The intent was to relocate the remains of all three of Georgia’s Declaration of Independence signers to the Signer’s Monument in Augusta, GA, in 1848. However, Gwinnett’s remains could not be located in Savannah’s Colonial Park Cemetery where he was buried. Nevertheless, the Signer’s Monument was dedicated in part to the memory of Gwinnett as one of Georgia’s three signers.
