President’s Dispatch 2025

Welcome to the website of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution. I am excited to tell you about our origination. We have been around for a long time. We were chartered in March 15, 1921 by the National Society Sons of the American Revolution. We have 34 chapters in the Georgia Society with over 2000 members. Our goal is to honor our patriotic ancestors by teaching each generation to honor our heritage by patriotic, historic, and educational service. We are a 501C3 non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promotion patriotism and preserving American History.

We accomplish this in many different ways. We have a Speaker’s Bureau where members of our Society speak to a variety of clubs, schools, and at civic events. We come in Revolutionary war uniforms,18th century period dress, or 21st century dress business attire. Our members bring programs on our Constitution, Colonial History, and many other subjects about the men and women that shaped the our country both then and now. Our award winning Color Guard, dressed in period Continental uniforms and Militia, participates in many events, both locally and nationally. These include civic events, parades, patriotic programs, battle site observances, reenactments, historic events, governmental and military events, marking the graves of our patriot ancestors, and going to fifth grade classes in uniforms and teaching them what life was like during our beginning as a nation. We sponsor youth programs such as outstanding ROTC cadets, the Rumbaugh history oration contest for middle and high school students, Eagle scouting programs, and poster contests for elementary schools.

Our state and national Society membership comes from all walks of life. We have young members from infants to eighteen years old in the Children of the American Revolution. As Sons of the American Revolution, our membership is comprised of young men to grandfathers. There is room for any age and background. We have had 16 past Presidents of the Untied States, members of Congress, and Supreme Court Justices.

We encourage you, while visiting our website, to contact our Society through our Contact Us page for further information on membership in the Sons of the American Revolution. Help us to remember not only your family patriot ancestor but all the men and women that built this great nation we call home, the United States of America.
